San Diego Part 2
You can't go to San Diego, even on business, and not have some fun. Knowing the two guys I was with, Eric Metcalf and Bill Carroll, I knew this was going to be an experience. I didn't know all the excitement that would come from Bill's driving, though.
We stayed in an awesome little bungalow on Mission Bay. Here's a picture outside of the bungalow and the view behind it.
Saturday night we got to have dinner with Ron Gollner and his wife Cheri. Ron was the worship and arts pastor at the church I was at in Las Vegas and he is now at a church in Oceanside, California. It was really cool to see him and Cheri again.
Sunday, after we got done visiting churches, we had some time to kill before our flight so we drove down to La Jolla , visited the beach, and ate at a cool restaurant that had a great ocean view.
We also headed down to the Gas Lamp District of San Diego and walked around for a bit. It's a great area downtown that is near PetCo Park, where the Padres play.
On our flight in we saw a bunch of naval ships sitting at docks so we decided to go down and look at some ships. We found an awesome decommissioned aircraft carrier, called the Midway, that you could tour. It was unbelievably cool. Metcalf is sitting in the back of this medical helicopter looking real introspective. He's such a quiet guy.
It was a pretty fantastic weekend, but I by the end I was ready to get home to my wife and get back to work.

Great pics except for the old dude in that middle one. If I had to guess, I'd say he's on his last legs. But the woman with him...WOW! I mean...WOW!
Oh, and you don't look bad yourself...for an aging twenty-something. :-)
