There's a large sucking sound coming from the Chicago area and it's not the Bears this year. It's the sound of me being pulled into the mania. I've been a lifelong Packers fan, so cheering the Bears would be unthinkable. But I find myself really happy the Bears are in the Super Bowl. I've been living in the Chicago area for about four months now and it's hard not to get caught up in. I mean these people are crazy. The enthusiasm is infectious. Turn on the news and you hear, "The Bears, the Bears, the Bears, oh yeah, the president gave some speech last night, back to the Bears." That's no exaggeration. The players can do no wrong unless it's on the field. One player is arrested for a ridiculous violation of the law and he gets a pass, but Rex throws three interceptions and the people want his head. But it's been more than 20 years since they've been to the big game. I love this Super Bowl matchup because it's a win, win for me. I like the Colts and the Bears. Somehow I've come to a place where I'm going to be rooting for the Bears. I drank the kool-aid. I think I'll be rooting for the even into next season, except for when they play the Packers.
